Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Harnesses Internet to Raise Money to Help Support Wildlife
Rehabilitation Through Online Charity Shopping Mall
Barrington, Illinois, July 7, 2004 — Flint
Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation has been able to support the daily
needs of over 20 animals which have been injured or orphaned through
funds its supporters have raised by doing their everyday online shopping
through iGive.com, the first online charity shopping mall. iGive.com
enables individuals to shop online at hundreds of merchants and
simultaneously support any cause they wish, such as Flint Creek Wildlife
Rehabilitation. Up to 25 percent or more of every purchase is
donated to the selected cause at no extra cost to shoppers or causes. iGive.com members have listed more than 15,000 causes on the site.
“iGive.com is an
excellent and nearly effortless way to raise needed funds for our
organization. Many of our supporters were already shopping online. Now
with their shopping through the Mall at iGive.com, everything they buy
helps Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation” commented Dawn Keller,
Founder. “We’re excited about the continued funds this technology,
and iGive.com, will enable our supporters to raise for wildlife
rehabilitation. ”
Flint Creek Wildlife
rehabilitation handles wild animals that have been orphaned or injured
and provides them with the necessary medical treatment, nutrition and
rehabilitation so that they can be released back into the wild.
The costs of operating such a facility are high and without public
donations these services could not be provided.
“iGive.com’s mission is to provide a
reliable, valuable, secure and easy-to-use tool to help individuals
support their favorite causes while doing their everyday online
shopping,” explained Robert Grosshandler, founder and chief executive
officer of iGive.com. “We’re delighted that Flint Creek Wildllife is
utilizing iGive.com and the information age to help with care of
wildlife. The causes benefit from their supporters’ everyday shopping,
and shoppers benefit from the ability to help causes close to their
hearts and homes.”
Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation is dedicated to the rehabilitation of
injured and orphaned wildlife with the goal of returning fully rehabilitated
wildlife to its natural habitat. Flint Creek promotes respect for wildlife and
wildlife habitats through public education programs. Flint Creek also supports
efforts to repopulate endangered and threatened wildlife species.
Established in 2003, Flint Creek Wildlife currently operates from a property
along Flint Creek in the greater Barrington, Illinois area. Flint Creek is seeking a
larger property that will support its longer term growth.
Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 corporation.
Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed under law.
iGive.com is the Internet’s first venture
for turning online shopping into a vehicle for charitable giving. In
addition to supporting any cause they wish, users can also track,
directly on the site, their individual donations to their causes and the
total amount their causes have raised. iGive.com also offers shoppers a
choice of more online merchants than any other online charity mall.
Since its debut in 1997, iGive.com has
raised more than $1,000,000 for thousands of nonprofit organizations and
worthy causes, ranging from animal shelters, school marching bands,
medical research foundations to women’s shelters and missing children’s
advocacy groups. For more information or to register with iGive.com,
